How Many Hours do You Spend on the Job?

This is an interesting piece that came swooping across my computer screen. Never really tallied the hours I spend crafting, but then this wouldn't be America if someone did not study the time spent crafting...

'On average, a crafter spends 7.5 hours a week engaged in his/her craft.'
This statistic comes from the Craft and Hobby Association.

Does this statistic ring true with you?
Leave us a comment and let us know how much time do you spend crafting.

I think I spend at least 10 hours a week physically crafting and 10 hours mentally creating.

Am I a "workaholic"? I spend between 40-50 hours a week for physical and mental creating.

Sometimes I can't fall asleep at night because the wheels are turning. I can't put a time on the planning aspect because it seems I'm always working out something in my head. Physically I probably put in close to 20 hrs per week.

Since I spend my time doing groups and one on one counseling, I find myself crocheting during times when the kids are working on tasks. And being in NY, I crochet whenever I'm on the subway! Sometimes, I think I take the bus home just so I can crochet...half an hour over ten minutes.

For creative job maybe 3 hours per day, but for impulse my craft, takes 6 hours as minimum

I probably spending 15-25 hours a week physically crafting. I'm constantly designing in my mind. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with a whole new project! The business side (marketing, promoting, listing) takes another 10+ hours per week. It seems like it never stops for me!

Well I currently spend 40 hours per week at my 9-5, and probably another 20 hours per week on my jewelry business...hmm never even tallied it all up. No wonder I'm exhausted at the end of the week!

Ummm. Good question. I know I certainly need to spend less time thinking and surfing, and more time creating! :)

I think I spend about 25-30 hours crafting and another 25-30 hours doing everything else that comes with running your own business full time.A very busy and hectic schedule but I won't have it any other way. :)
